A note from Nora:
Well, this is certainly terrible!
My favorite thing about this job is when we get to go out and do shows and actually meet the people who listen to our show. It’s one of the only things that makes sitting alone in a room talking into a microphone feel like a real job. Happyish Holidays is one of my very favorite TTFA traditions, and I am canceling the tour with a big, heavy heart.
Long story short: the decision was mine, and it’s purely personal. It’s not my story to tell, but it’s just not the right time for me to spend the better part of 3 weeks away from home.
The compromise that feels doable for me personally and professionally is to keep Happyish Holidays 2023 to our two Minneapolis shows on December 7 and 8, and to find a way to livestream at least one of them (you’ll get those details from our instagram when we have them).
I hate disappointing people so much that when old men ask if I play basketball I say yes, but I’ve also learned over the past few years that even the right decision can be a hard one. Sorry to have made your holidays a little less happyish, and fingers crossed we’ll see you again next time we tour.
Xoxo
