Paula Poundstone is one of our country’s prized comedians, legendary for her spontaneous humor. She tours the country doing live shows, stars in her new weekly podcast Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone and is a popular panelist on NPR’s # 1 show, the weekly comedy news quiz Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me!

Paula is the winner of many awards and accolades in her distinguished career.  She is the star of numerous HBO specials and starred in her own series on HBO and ABC.  Her second special for HBO, Paula Poundstone goes to Harvard, marked the first time the elite university allowed its name to be used in the title of a television show. She is the first woman, in its then 73rd year, to perform standup comedy at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Paula’s filed commentaries for CBS Sunday Morning and NPR’s  Morning Edition All Things Considered.  Voice work includes the character “Forgetter Paula” in Disney/Pixar’s Academy Award-winning feature film, Inside Out.

Paula is also an author, with two books and several articles to her name.  Her most recent book, The Totally Unscientific Study Of The Search For Human Happiness (Algonquin Books) landed at #1 on amazon “Best Sellers” lists in Humor in all formats. It is one of eight in the country to be in the semi-final round for the Thurber Prize for American Humor, the highest recognition of the art of humor writing in the United States. The audio book, read by Paula, is one of five finalists for the 2018 “Audie Award” for Audio Book of the Year.

Paula is the winner of  an American Comedy Award for Best Female Standup Comic and is recognized in innumerable lists, documentaries, and literary compendiums noting influential standup comedians of our time.
