Aziz Ansari is set to perform a benefit show for the victims of the events surrounding the Boston Marathon Bombings at The Wilbur THIS Sunday April 28th, 2013 at 7:00pm.

Aziz Ansari is best known for his co-starring role opposite SNL’s Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones in the critically acclaimed NBC Comedy Series "Parks and Recreation." Ansari plays Tom Haverford, the sarcastic and occasionally sleazy government employee who is trying to weasel his way to the top of the local Parks and Rec department in Pawnee, Indiana. In 2009, Ansari released his much anticipated stand-up special and album for Comedy Central: "Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening."

Ansari can be seen in Judd Apatow’s comedies "Funny People” and “Get Him to the Greek.” Ansari has also had roles in the hit comedies "I Love You, Man," and "Observe and Report.” Ansari first came to audiences’ attention on MTV’s hit sketch comedy series "Human Giant." Ansari also had a memorable guest-starring role on HBO’s "Flight of the Conchords," in which he portrayed a racist fruit vendor. In addition, he was seen in a multi-episode arc on "Scrubs."

100% of ticket proceeds plus a $9,500 donation from the Wilbur will be donated to The One Fund Boston & The Officer Richard Donohue Fund . The One Fund Boston was formed by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Menino, in order to raise money to help those families most affected by the tragic events that unfolded during Monday’s Boston Marathon. Officer Richard Donohue is showing some positive signs of recovery but it will be a long and difficult road for him and his family. The MBTA Police Association Benevolent Fund, Inc. is seeking donations to assist him and his family in this difficult time via the Fund set up for him and his family.
