Neurotic funnyman – and longtime Jay Leno BFF – Richard Lewis said “The Tonight Show” heir Conan O’Brien “got shafted” in the bizarre game of musical chairs that NBC is playing with its post-10 p.m. slot.
“ ‘The Tonight Show’ is a rare franchise, it’s only been held by four or five people, and Conan never, ever got the hoopla that he deserved for taking over the show,” Lewis told the Track . “He never got what Jay got when he took over from Johnny Carson . I’d be pretty pissed.”
